Nov. 2011 Our class forged a combined vision for Tahuna and our representatives who spoke to the judges on the My Tag My Town evening at Wallace Gallery did a fine job of expressing the thinking behind the mural. When the announcement was made that we had won, everyone jumped up off their seats with joy. WOW! A $500 Resene Paint voucher to spend. Our mural is now on display at the
Morrinsville Public Library!!
'Hurry up Paige," Aaron shouted to me. I threw the box of jackets to Mrs Haddock and then sprinted into the Wallace Art Gallery. Suddenly my heart slowed down and I was in a calm trance. On my way to the mural, I came across a table set out with yummy snacks, my tummy rumbled. I got to the mural ready and rearing to speak. Charlotte came over and I gave her a warm welcome. The first thing she asked was "Tell me about the mural?" Tasha, Mark and I started talking about the mural and Mrs H joined in. After she gave us a score I was so tempted to go and have a look at, all the other awesome murals. Suddenly, it was judging time, before that they put on a skit about accepting people's values. Then they had a couple of games. The first game was - who can throw a very full balloon the longest? The two winners were donated a Resene prize pack. The last game was balance the Hacky Sack on the head - they picked 27 people. We had to dance and jump, all sorts of things. The final two people would get a Resene prize pack, the best thing about it was that I was one of the winners. After some important speeches it was judging time! I was soooo nervous. They started eith third prize ' Taaatuanui' Everyone clapped. Second prize goes to 'Teeee Poooi' After that no one had any faith in us. Paige
